Monitoring Room Satellite Re-entry Monitoring Room
One of KASI NSSAO's main missions is to provide analyzed information to government-related organizations when artificial space objects are expected to re-enter the atmosphere. If it is expected that dangerous space objects are going to crash in Korea within 72 hours, the Satellite Re-entry Monitoring Room operated by KASI NSSAO is set up and the situation is monitored according to the Korea Space Hazard Response Protocol Manual.
Once the Monitoring Room is activated, NSSAO would detect, analyze, and classify space objects to assess space risks and predict their paths. The results are reported to the relevant authorities and alerted to people until the risk situation (crashes, collisions, impacts, etc.) is resolved. NSSAO also prepares for potential risks in accordance with the working manual.
